Weighted Blankets and Fibromyalgia: 5 Resources

Have you ever considered using a weighted blanket for your fibromyalgia? Lately, I’ve been wondering if a weighted blanket might help me sleep better at night with my fibromyalgia. So I went to Google and started reading about them. It’s easy to find many articles from websites that are selling these blankets. But finding actual reviews, or studies was more challenging. I’ve collected the best of the articles I’ve read, and am sharing them with you.

Fibro & Weighted Blanket Articles:

The first article is:

The second one is:

Third, is this article from the National Pain Report website.

General Buying Information

Gentle Weight has many articles about the use of weighted blankets for different issues. It includes lots of info on how to chose which one is right for you. It also has reviews of weighted products including blankets, vests, lap pads, and wraps. This website is an Amazon affiliate for weighted blankets. They don’t sell these products themselves.

Finally, the last article is really helpful for figuring out if a weighted blanket would work for you. The Assessment Quiz at the end of the article doesn’t work, though. I would check carefully before ordering anything from Lora’s Weighted Blankets as many of their links don’t work.

Wrap Up

I am going to try some of the suggestions in the last article to see if a weighted blanket will help me sleep better with my fibromyalgia. Currently, I cannot afford one. Since they are pricey, figuring out if you really like heavy blankets is important before ordering.

I hope this post helped answer some of your questions about weighted blankets.

  1. This is fab, thanks for this Kathy as it’s perfect timing – I’ve been wanting to try a weighted blanket for quite some time but never got further than that, perhaps because the price put me off, but then this week I’ve been more curious so I scoped out a few websites in the UK that sell them. Will bookmark this and read through the resources tonight, though I think eventually curiosity will get the better of me (and my bank card)! xx

    1. Glad that it can help you, Caz! I’m awful restless at night, so I wonder if the weight will just aggravate me. If you buy one, let me know what you think.

  2. Thanks for reading and commenting! I think since everyone’s pain is different, even positive reviews don’t really tell us if we’d like one.

  3. I came across weighted blankets on a shopping channel just yesterday and it looked really comfortable. But, yes, it was quite expensive, so I’d also be interested to know about other people’s views. I’ll keep a check for replies.
