It’s time for November’s Link Party with Sheryl at “A Chronic Voice!” This month’s prompts are Meeting, Advocating, Tweaking, Working, and Curating.
Meeting
This makes me think of family and friends. This past Sunday I went to Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens with family, and had a blast. It has plants from around the world grouped into rooms like the desert room, ferns, orchids, one devoted to the plants of Cuba, and a train display with live plants in the scenery. They also have a lovely café with tasty food.
Here’s a photo of one of the lovely orchids. I’ll be posting many more on my Instagram page.
Advocating
My birthday is later this month, so I’m participating in a fundraiser for pediatric cancer research. My little boy’s life was saved due to this research, so I want to give back. Plus, I know too many little kids, and teens affected by cancer. The organization is called Alex’s Lemonade Stand.
I’m doing a Facebook fundraiser for them. You can check it out here if you’re interested.
Tweaking
I’m trying to tweak my sleep/wake schedule back to where it was before we had to switch the clocks back from Daylight Savings Time. Seriously, the switch happened on November 4th and I’m still messed up. Staying up too late, and sleeping too late.
Working
Still working on my Bright Line Eating Plan. Especially as holidays are here, it’s taking research, and planning to keep my lines bright. I forgot to do that on Saturday, and as a result, I ate off plan for one meal while at a birthday party. I did way better on Sunday, when we went to Phipps, because I did my research and took some of my food with me!
Curating
I took many photos at Phipps, so I’m happily going through them, editing, and collecting them into an album. I’m really enjoying photography. Since we all took photos, we’ve been sharing them with each other.
Here’s one of me in the cactus room:
