Hello all! I’ve missed the last couple link parties with Sheryl at “A Chronic Voice.”, so I wanted to jump into March 2020’s link party! I’m pretty much still pecking at the keyboard with my left hand. Before I start on the prompts for March, here’s a bit of spring!
I saw these tiny flowers today while walking in the park. A honeybee came and landed on one. Unfortunately, that photo was blurry. Spring is coming. I just had to share it with you all.
Early Spring Flowers
This month’s prompts are Staying, Doing, Being, Targeting, and Weighing.
Staying
I’ve been doing a lot of staying put this winter. Since I broke my shoulder in January, I’m not able to drive. I live in a small rural town that has no public transportation. Even riding in someone else’s car was unpleasant due to the pain of hitting pot holes, and rough spots in the pavement. Today my shoulder doesn’t hurt in the car anymore, but doing physical therapy has made my shoulder more painful in general. Even walking hurts it lately.
Doing
So what have I been doing to occupy this stuck at home season? Watching far too many You Tube videos. I’ve watched many episodes of Midsomer Murders, and Rosemary and Thyme which are British murder mysteries. I’ve watched this year’s Crufts Dog show, and really enjoyed the Agility and Flyball competitions.
(By the way, my dog, Dottie, is vacationing with my oldest child. She has other pets to occupy her time. I miss her greatly!)
I’ve also watched a lot of ice skating competitions both new and in years past. I know I’m pathetic.
Being
This season of life has been quite challenging. I’m not very good at just being. I’ve gotten grumpy. I’ve struggled with accepting that my arm needs time to heal. It’s been a pain, literally and figuratively. I’m not very good at being patient. But spring is coming!
Targeting
My primary target this month is working on physical therapy. My second goal is to not buy anything but the essentials. I’m still struggling to pay off my debts from when my dog had pancreatitis back in September. I think the whole year is going to be a don’t spend any money year, seeing as I owe taxes before April 15th, and I keep getting medical bills from my hospital/rehab stay! Also, I just paid $295.77 for an inhaler!!! It’s my deductible for 2020. Yippee.
I’m living on beans and rice. It’s a good thing that I like them.
Weighing
Of course, one good thing about when one’s finances are tight, is you don’t have extra money for junk food. Even though I have struggled as an emotional eater in the past, I have managed to not gain weight during this very frustrating, isolating period. A blessing in disguise maybe?
