It’s time for August’s Link Party with Sheryl at A Chronic Voice! This months prompts are Figuring, Completing, Boring, Cuddling, and Chatting.
Figuring
I think we are constantly changing as our circumstances change. So much of our lives we are trying to figure out who we are, what we most need/want, and how to get there. I used to have a co-worker, who would say “I don’t know what I want to be when I grow up.”
I used to think she was just being silly, but now I think she understood that we are constantly trying to figure this out. Who are we? Who do we want to be? I’m definitely in a place in my life where I’m trying to figure this out as my youngest son goes off to college this week.
Completing
Completing the race.
I guess I’m completing being a full-time, hands-on mom to my children. People tell me I will always be a mom, but it’s not the same as it was. Anyway, as I complete this phase of life I’m still trying to figure out “what I want to be when I grow up.”
Boring
I tend to spend too much time distracting myself from the quiet in my apartment. Sometimes those distractions are helpful, like writing, creating artwork, taking a walk with my dog. Other times, I spend hours playing games on my phone or computer. Or watch too much Netflix. I’m not bored, just lonely.
Cuddling
PinMy furry companion.
Thank God for my little dog, Dottie. She provides many opportunities for cuddling. Of course, as long as I keep petting her she will stay close. As soon as I quit she often goes, and crawls into her bed in her crate. Well, it’s something. Several times a week, I get hugs from my other kids who live near me. When I can make it to church, I get hugs there from my friends.
Chatting
PinChatting.
